As of June, the War in Afghanistan officially became the longest in U.S. history, one that Marines fought with honor and unwavering determination until power was returned to the Afghan people. Marines continue to fight the Taliban alongside Afghan soldiers to eventually shoulder the burden of Afghanistan's national security. The Marines enables the history of the Corps to be cherished permanently in a handsome package that every Marine will be proud to own and display. This book will be read again and again by past and present Marines, their families and friends, and the countless others that have been inspired by the Marine Corps.

A new, very old book - Pictorial History of the American Revolution I found this book in a used book store in Charlottesville VA and quite frankly forgot about it with everything that has been going on. This oversized 12x" hardbound book is in very good condition for its age. It contains pages of black and white photographs and early artwork of every sailing vessel of the U.S. Navy from the revolution to time of book's publishing, and gives a written history of the United States Navy.

Books shelved as marines: Matterhorn by Karl Marlantes, The Pacific by Hugh Ambrose, The Things a Brother Knows by Dana Reinhardt, The Lucky One by Nicho. Military Music Origins The earliest surviving pictorial, sculptured, and written records show musical or quasimusical instruments employed in connection with military activity for signaling during encampments, parades, and combat. Because the sounds were produced in the open air, the instruments have tended to be brass and percussion types.
